Why not treat yourself to a fine evening out!

Last night I had the pleasure of joining the amazing crew at @wirrawirrawines who are celebrating 50 years of their flagship wine ‘Church Block.’

You too can enjoy this special evening out at Wirra Wirra Wines on Saturday, October 19th and be guided through a tasting of past vintages of Church Block in the century-old cellars, which include the 2002, 2009, 2018, and the newly launched 2022 ranges.

As the sun sets over the vineyard you’ll be treated to drinks in the garden while witnessing the launch of the famous catapult.

You can then indulge in a four-course dinner at Harry’s Deli, with each dish perfectly paired with more flagship wines, offering a unique opportunity to enjoy in the finest flavours Wirra Wirra has to ofter.

My husband devoured the hearty Ragu, while I tucked into the Kranski sausage Panini with Swiss cheese, slaw, and garlic aioli. I can almost taste it now.

We paired it with some of their award-winning wines, and then, because it was so good…….. we sat outside in the sun and had another.

You have a choice of sitting inside by the warmth of the fire, or outside in the heated, enclosed courtyard that overlooks the gardens and Vineyard. If the weather permits, there is also a large outdoor area available.

Families can enjoy the place as there is a healthy kids’ menu, and there is plenty of space for the kids to run around on the lawn. There are also activities for families to enjoy on sunny days.

EAR BUD Q TIP
The undercover area has been thoughtfully designed, with large groups at one end and smaller, more intimate groupings at the other to minimise disturbances. If you don’t mind a higher level of background noise, the seats near the fire look so comfy and cosy.

You owe it to yourself, and you’ll be glad you did

Last weekend we treated ourselves to a date afternoon at Wirra Wirra Wines, after it was recommended by one of our community.

It was so nice to have an adult conversation during the school holidays and relax for an hour.

We treated ourselves to a tasting of their magnificent wines, and this delicious cheese platter and sat outside taking in the beautiful fresh air and serenity.

It is family friendly, and many families were playing on the expansive lush green lawns. Mr 13 would have liked to have come along and joined in (but it was a date day so not on this occasion).

Several people also brought their fur babies along for the afternoon, as it is dog friendly.

Very attentive service, superb wines (we may have left with a few bottles), and the cheese platter matched the view – spectacular!

Although we sat outside as the weather was so nice, this place has been rated as quiet indoors also. So, no matter where you sit, you should be able to enjoy the conversation around the table while you enjoy the view and food.

And if you’re wondering, I always smile like this when cheese and wine are involved

We have been there many times. The menu is limited but changes each season. We had garlic & parmesan roast potatoes, a spicy lamb flat bread and a sticky beef& noodle salad. All were delicious. We had a few wines as well as a coffee to finish. All produce is locally sourced. They have recently increased the seating capacity by enlarging and enclosing the outdoor area. A lovely casual lunch venue in picturesque Mc Laren Vale
