Another return visit while waiting on a car repair. The menu has expanded greatly.

I had a VERY healthy rainbow salad with tafu and a mint / fresh dressing + chili on the side.
Only $14. More than 50% of visitors are for take-away.

Veir Canteen closes at 7pm on workday evenings so not a typical dinner venue.

Daytime only Vietnamase take-away and eat-in spot. No music playing at all.

A wide range of Viet favourites, served quickly and at a reasoanble price. A Christies Beach lunchtime staple for nearby businesses since 2018.

My guess is that the dining room could become noisy if busy, but it was not today.

I had an early lunch at this four year old authentic Vietnamese restaurant and take-away. I’ve been meaning to try it for years and at last time and place worked for me.

Similar to BaMi down Beach Rd, the majority of their business appears to be take-away. However, Viet Canteen is a little more upmarket, as they have a more extensive menu with around 12 types of dishes.

They can also seat up to 30 people. As they shut at 7-30pm, I do not believe that evening meals are a big part of their business. I reckon they could have an evening restaurant with investment in the facility. However, either the area (Beach Rd businesses) or a focus on lunch means that they have not gone in that direction.

I bought ‘Mi Kho’ – dry egg noodle with lemongrass chicken which was very tasty and well worth the $14.80. It also avoided a mess that I ofetn make with Pho!

We expect to use them a take-away dinner in future when the family are keen on Vietnamese.
