Rose and Angelo made us welcome and seated in the area of the restaurant with table cloths. Rose asked if she could turn down the music as she remembed my poor hearing.

    We ordered:
    1) GNOCCHI DELLA CASA – Potato gnocchi served with fresh tomato sauce, parmesan cheese & basil oil. I added Burrata. It was delcious and easily the best gnocchi I have every eaten. Interesting, vegetarian and it have converted me form Oriechette Calabrese after 5 years!
    2) PENNE AL POLLO – Penne pasta with chicken, mushroom, pancetta & parmesan cheese in rose’
sauce (My youngest son always orders ths meal)
    3) RAVIOLI ITALIANI Spinach and ricotta ravioli with creamy roasted pumpkin and spinach. (My wife always orders this meal).

Trittico is on form yet again.

They have changed the layout a little to better separate dining and coffee customers. They have put a wooden screen to have the linen covered tables from the simpler coffee tables.

Angelo and Rose were friendly as always. My wife and I ordered as we always do.
    – Oriechetta Calabrese
    – Pumpkin pasta

    Delicious and large servings.
We stayed for 3 hours chatting to our friends.
Low background music and few others in the dining area.

It was surprisingly quiet for Sunday lunch as there were
    Only two other diners.

However, staff told us that Sunday’s are very busy for Trittico’s Aussie type brunch. They are open every day from 8am, so it must be building up a appreciative clientele.

Our group of four ordered delicious large arancini balls (3 flavours) and bruschetta.

Main courses were all our favs:
    Oriecchietti Calabrese
    Penne a la Pollo
    Pumpkin ravioli with cream
    Penne bolognaise

Only the chicken (pollo) was not up to the normal level, but that might be because Angelo works at a winery restaurant until 3pm on Sundays.

Supposedly the music playing was low but I heard only lowish scratching sounds instead of music.

If you reside in the southern part of Adelaide and crave an exceptional Italian dining experience, you no longer must endure the hassle of driving all the way to Glenelg or beyond, struggling to find parking and navigating through crowds. The solution to your quest for an authentic taste of Italy in Adelaide’s south has arrived, thanks to a glowing review left by a member of the Ambient Menu community.

Trittico restaurant is the perfect choice for a romantic date night or a delightful dinner with the whole family. Angelo, the owner and chef, is truly a culinary genius. The dishes he prepared for us were nothing short of a gastronomic delight.

    We ate:
🍽 Garlic Bread: Garlic buttered ciabatta bread $8.00
🍽 Arancini: Trio of Italian rice balls filled with homemade Bolognese sauce, mushrooms or pumpkin $22.00
🍽 Lasagna Bolognese: Layers of pasta, homemade Bolognese sauce, mozzarella & parmesan cheese $22.00
🍽 Spaghetti Mare: Spaghetti with mixed seafood & fresh tomatoes and hint of chilli $35.00
    🍽 Ham and Cheese Pizza:

I do not understand Mr Teen. We go to a seafood restaurant and he orders spaghetti Bolognese, we go to an Italian restaurant and he orders the most basic pizza

    Pros:
    1. Family-friendly: If you have little ones, they offer a kids menu and provide activities to keep them entertained.
    2. Convenient parking: Ample and free parking is available, eliminating the stress of searching for a spot.
    3. Accessibility: The restaurant is designed with ease of movement in mind. The front door, toilets, and interior space are all spacious and well-suited for comfortable navigation. Unlike other crowded establishments, the tables are thoughtfully arranged, ensuring that the kitchen noise doesn’t interfere with your conversation. You can even catch a glimpse of the pizza oven from your table as you witness the pizzas being made from scratch.
    4. Generous portions: Be prepared for hearty servings. After enjoying the appetizers and main course, I ended up taking my pasta home in a takeaway container, unfortunately leaving no room for the enticing desserts I was eager to try. I suppose that leaves me with a reason to return another time.
    5. Outstanding service: The staff are friendly, attentive, and create a warm atmosphere. The restaurant has a cozy neighbourhood vibe, devoid of the rushed and impersonal nature found in many other eateries.
    6. Gluten free, Vegetarian and Vegan options available.

    EAR BUD Q TIP
Soft music is played at a comfortable volume. However, the restaurant lacks acoustic treatment, so if the restaurant is fully booked or if there’s a large and lively group present, it might be challenging to hold a conversation.
For a quieter experience, choose one of the round tables in the middle of the dining room, as they are located away from the speakers. Additionally, the windows may cause slight noise echoes, making the centre of the restaurant the best spot for a tranquil meal.

    Staff Hot Tip:
Busiest times: Friday and Saturday night. If you wish to dine on the weekend aim to arrive around 6 o’clock.
We were there at peak time on a Saturday night and had no issues conversing at our table.

Most ambient times: Lunchtime every day, and weekday dinners are typically more serene. Surges start to pick up from Thursday to Sunday nights.

This Italian restaurant today has been open only 7 months. The head chef Angelo, his partner and another are the owners. Hence Trittico.

Angelo was the inspiration for the once great La Trattoria di Roma on Beach Rd, Christies Beach that closed recently two sad years after Angelo’s departure.

Only recently, we found out where he had gone to, so it was well overdue for us to try! We were not disappointed. The menu contained many of his old Prima Piatti, plus more new meals.

For me it was ORECCHIETTE CALABRESE – Italian sausage, panchetta, nydja, broccoli & cream. Call me boring, but when I eat at Angelo’s I order this meal 90% of the time.

My wife must be boring too, as she ordered her long time favourite RAVIOLI ITALIANI – Ravioli with roasted pumpkin, spinach and creamy

A couple of Peroni Red and we set for the early evening.

I highly recommend this restaurant as authentically Italian, high quality with attentive staff.
