Well spaced tables, Sound-absorbing materials (e.g., carpets, curtains, acoustic panels),
Low-noise kitchen or food prep area away from diners,
Not many people dining.

We benefited from a 10% discount on all food and drink due to one of our group being a member of the Golf Course. We had a leisurely 2-3 hour lunch with drinks. There a good selection of beer on tap and excellent local vines.

Lunch was:
– STEAK SANDWICH – smoked scotch fillet, American cheese, pickled onion,
mixed lettuce, harissa aioli, tomato jam on toasted sour dough
– CARIBBEAN CAULIFLOWER – smoked cauliflower seasoned with house jerk seasoning, rice, black bean puree, sweet potato, pineapple salsa, spring onions
– CHICKEN SCHNITZEL (half size) – panko crumbed chicken breast, caddy salt chips, salad

The meals were good but not exceptional. The Bistro makes smoked versions a feature of their menu but I am not yet convinced that it is a plus. Perhaps I need to try other meals.

It was a more imaginative menu than our last visit, so hats off to the Vines for experimenting with change.

The Vines Golf clubhouse has an expanded menu with a handful of veggie options.
Eggplant parmigiana was a little soft but very tasty. The side salad was interesting with a delicious dressing.
The others chose:
Chicken Maryland
Malaysian Burger
Steak and chips

All were good and restaurant quality. We finished with excellent coffee.

Oh, don’t forget beautiful views onto the golf course.

We spent a long lunch at the Vines with old friends a lovely sunny afternoon.

My last visit was over 3 years ago. Since then the menu has become much improved
With some surprising additions such as Steak Frites.

I had a superb mushroom and pine nuts risotto from the lighter choice (LC) for only $15. My wife had a good lasagna. It was plenty for me.
Unfortunately I had explained ‘steak frites’ to our friends. They both ordered medium rare steak that was grizzly and too thick. Also, instead of french fries, ie. frites, they received crinkle cut frozen then fried chips.
The sauce was good and cooked okay, but a cheap cut of meat destroyed it.

We’ll be back for the reasonable prices and interesting menu but never for steak frites!

Great outlook over the golf course, staff are friendly and accommodating. Kids played outside and we got to have some adult conversation while still watching them behind the window. Only dropped to 4 star food as hubby said his steak was a bit chewy. But he is a German, and they are very particlar about their meat…….
