Last minute decision to see if they could fit us in. Staff were able to squeeze us in. A well stocked wine cellar for any special events. I had two visitors from Ireland in a total group of six. Conversation was complicated by their accent but all able to converse even though staff and bar area was busy. Wonderful food. Dumplings and the ‘roo skewers were a highlight.

Family and good food is what life’s about 🧡

We took our family visiting from Brisbane to Chefs Hats awarded restaurant @salopianinn to experience their warm hospitality, relaxing ambience and of course delicious food😋

Located in beautiful McLaren Vale they are the epitome of local, high quality and fresh food.

We opted for the feed me and enjoyed every dish…. the kids had the fish and chips and were surprised that they didn’t need it battered to love it!

We had such a great experience. The place was full but we could still have a conversation with our interstate family

    Happy New Year everyone🥳🥳

My wife and I visited The Salopian Inn for the first time after talking about it for years. It’s easy to tell that this is a top rated restaurant by the regular large number of expensive cars sitting outside for hours every lunch-time. Our visit was a Thursday and it was full. No wonder….

First impressions were excellent – attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere and a well stocked bar. As the first seating option was under a loud speaker and in a noisy room (well for me at least), we were quickly made a non-fuss second and then third option in the so called quiet room. Certainly quieter than the other larger spaces. However, it was not quiet due to a family group in our little room and and a group of ten male retirees (I guess) enjoying an afternoon of good wine and conversation. Good on them, its my problem.

We shared a “Feed Me” menu, which was superb.

Highlights of the five ‘Small Delights” were
Hiramasa Kingfish Sashimi + Miso Seseme
Salopian Dumplings – Pork + Ginger + Roasted Chilli + Coriander

    There were two “Substantial Delights”
Garfish + Asparagus + Tomato + Fried Bread + Chilli + Lemon Balm
4 Week Dry Aged Grass Fed Steak + Slow Roasted Tomato + Beef Fat Butter + Jus
The steak was perhaps the best I’ve ever had!

The cellar was inviting and worth a look.

Overall an excellent meal with delightful staff at every encounter. Highly recommended for special treat.

We were seated inside near the bar at the back. It was a bit noisy but not too bad. We were at our favourite table with the old door under glass with money from many countries encased. If you wanted a quieter more intimate spot, they have private dining rooms. We were there on a beautiful autumn Sunday afternoon with 4 friends. It was very busy with 2 sittings. We were well looked after and the guys loved visiting the cellar to choose their bottle of red. We girls shared a local bottle of rosé. We shared some dumplings as a starter then has a selection of chicken, a pork dish, a beef pie or the gnocchi with mushroom as our main courses. This place is world renown and always busy – and for good reason. It’s not cheap but you pay for quality. They are very proud of their veg garden that supplies the restaurant. An icon of Mc Laren Vale.

Amazing food in a quiet setting with gorgeous views. Perfect for any special occasion be it birthdays, anniversary, proposals. I visited with a group and separately with my husband and on both occasions I was able to hear with ease despite staff speaking through their masks.
My favourite food in Adelaide. A special day out.
