The Rose on East End – A Hidden Gem for Ambience

My initial plan was to grab a quick take-away coffee, but once I stepped inside this place I saw their menu and I decided to stay instead.

Most people dine outside on busy East Terrace, but venture upstairs and you’re treated to a view of the East Terrace parklands and easy conversation.

The Rose caters to a range of dietary preferences, including vegans, vegetarians, and those with gluten sensitivities.

For my lunch, I couldn’t resist the Roast Capsicum Sandwich, generously filled with roast pumpkin, zucchini, olives, mushrooms, marinated artichokes, baby spinach, and a delish beetroot hummus. It was GOOD!

During my visit, I had the pleasure of speaking with Troy, the owner, who shared a valuable tip: If you’re looking for a more relaxed experience, it’s best to avoid the crowds between 9:30 AM and 12:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, as those times tend to get quite busy. On weekdays, there’s a brunch rush from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, but any other time promises a tranquil and enjoyable dining experience.

My hot tip, sit upstairs. Not many people do from what I hear, but it was very homey and peaceful.
