Noise levels might be expected to increase on busy nights or at weekends.

We ate at this historic pub two (mid-week) nights in a row, while staying at Auburn. The first night was a fairly typical front bar experience. As it is an old pub, the front dining area is smallish and hence does not result in high noise levels (Particularly since the younger crowd were absent mid-week). On the following night, we were placed in the hallway at the back of the front bar area. It was unusual, but showed lovely decoration and was quiet. As a result, we chatted with neighbouring tables and enjoyed the experience.
