We held our regular meeting in the ‘snug’ as the music is turned off by bar staff and the light level can be adjusted by us.

Our group of six had a selection and all at different times. A huge chicken schnitzel, croquettes (starter) and others I cannot remember. They have a excellent selection of Coopers draft beers and many others.

The low-level noise was due to the music entering teh space form elsewhere in the quiet pub.

Our group normally meets in the ‘snug’ room and ask the bar staff to turn off the speaker there. Unfortunately, our meeting room was occupied by another group when we arrived. Bar staff offered to move them to a different area but as the quiet side (south side) of the C&S was unoccupied and quiet we went there.

Staff turned off the music in our room and were very attentive during our 2 hours.

They have a good selection of beers and an interesting veggie option – pearl barley rissotto. A first for me and it was tasty.

The snug group thanked us for our co-operation, so all-in-all a friendly encounter.

I was pleasantly surprised by the interior of this old Adelaide CBD pub. There are lots of different and attractive spaces throughout.

A freiend booked the snug room as she thought that it would be enclosed and quieter for our monthly meeting. Little did she know that the pub had installed a speaker inside the room with piped music (we did not discover it until after the meeting was finished). If we had known we could have asked for the music to be reduced.

The drinks and dinner were all tasty with some bread rools thrown in as well.

I need to return one day to have a better look around and sample their menu.
