This restaurant has a unique memorable charm about it, with beautiful surroundings, decor, and atmosphere. The service staff are polite and attentive, without being obtrusive. There are several areas to sit to suit your listening needs whether it be the main dining area, the courtyard, a private dining area or ‘the cells’. The food is flawless, full of flavour with large portions. Restaurants like this are a rarity today, old school charm, modern service, not just a meal – an unforgettable experience.

The food: Excellent quality and decent sized portions. I ate the signature special
Seafood Supreme – Sautéed Prawns, Scallops & Bugs, Garlic Pepper Cream, Absolutely superb, I am smiling as I think about it right now.

Service: Friendly and attentive. Classy and refined without snobby or obtrusive.

EAR BUD Q TIP
Ambience: It’s a busy little place with a certain charm from yesteryear. Soft background music was playing which added a relaxing, romantic, beautiful experience. The main dining area has floorboards, but the tables are well spaced with beautiful white tablecloths. This adds a special extra touch (and noise absorbance).

I like that they cater to the mature crowd, not influencers. The diners here are people who want to sit and chat, enjoy attentive service, superior food, and easy conversation. Not being rushed makes you tempted to enjoy that second (or third) glass of wine. It’s not an eat, photo for the insta, dash kinda place which I love.

STAFF TIPS
Friday and Saturday nights can get busy, so if you are sound sensitive perhaps avoid then. Not lively due to music volume or bands playing, just popular.

There are several places to sit and enjoy here though. Let them know in advance if you want a more intimate area to dine, it can be arranged without difficulty.

Summary
The Courthouse restaurant offers an experience I have not had for some time. Old school romance, modern food, and a memorable experience I am longing to go back for. Highly recommend this establishment for value for money and exceptional taste in food to back up. The lighting is not too dim, but still romantic. And while you are here, ask about the history of the building, it’s amazing.

Free carpark is an added bonus.
