ast week I had the pleasure of going to Spice and Ice Port Adelaide to try their Indian cuisine. It was definitely a curry fest!

    We ate:

+ Goat Curry (10/10). If you haven’t tried goat curry then you will like this one as it’s not as chewy and gamy as lamb. It also has a creamy cashew sauce. This was one of my favourite dishes too. Loved it!
+ Paneer Butter Masala (10/10). This has just the right amount of spice with the goat cheese being so smooth and in a creamy tomato sauce. Yum!
+ Butter Chicken (10/10). This is my favourite dish! The chicken was cooked well and it was very creamy just the way I like it.
+ Matar Methi Malai (10/10) with green peas and fenugreek. It is cooked in a creamy cashew onion sauce and can definitely taste the delicious spices. The sauce reminded me of lemongrass for some reason. I loved it!
+ Garlic Naan (10/10). It needed a bit more garlic flavour but other than the naan was just the right texture and a little bit crispy too.
+ Gulab Jamun (10/10) is sweet dumplings dipped in rose syrup. Lovely presentation with the syrup not too sickly sweet. I would have loved more rose syrup flavour but other than that it was nice end to the dinner.

    We drank:

    + Tropical Devil
    + Virgin Mojito

Restaurant rating: 10/10 ✨✨✨✨. And not because I got invited but because they are delicious curries!

Coming from Malaysia I absolutely love curries, all different types of curries, and it’s always nice to try something different.

@spiceniceportadelaide reached out with a kind invitation to visit them. It was a lovely experience. First impressions were good and staff were very friendly. They had a few other tables that night and food came out pretty quick for everyone.

Every time I get Indian it’s always madras or vindaloo. While these were available they had a more extensive menu so I decided to get curries I’ve never tried. Here’s what we had πŸ˜‹

    ● Veg samosas – classic, can’t go wrong
    ● Kashmiri Naan – filled with dried fruit and nuts. Generous and the most fragrant filling I’ve had in a kashmiri naan. We also got Chilli Cheese Naan which is my staple order
    ● Fire Balls – potato and cheese balls in a sweet oriental sauce
    ● Spice n Ice Chicken Curry – it’s a tomato base creamy curry and it was delicious. Mr Foodie’s pick of the night.
    ● Beef Kaduwala – first time I tried a curry like this with some sweetness from pumpkin and rich fragrance from coconut. Very enjoyable dish!
    ● Baigan Peas Bharta – roasted eggplant puree and peas. All all those secret spices and we have another highlight with 2 of my favourite vegetables.

Of course we washed that down with a good old Mango Lassi. It was such a lovely experience dining there. Thank you for your hospitality.

It’s a clean and comfortable space. We went on a weeknight so it was low ambience, easily have quiet conversations. Given the space I think it would be medium at most on busy times. Friendly staff and a delicious meal. I believe there is also a section for group bookings
