We went to Plus 82 Pocha was chosen for dinner after a 2 year break. We had a Fringe show around the corner.

The excellent casual Korean food is here, the indoor decor and word plays are still here BUT the restaurant has become
a hugely popular venue for student and young adults.

I booked one of the few outdoor tables thankfully which had LOW ambience. Indoors
It was too hard for me to communicate.

We shared a small starter (rice based) and a very tasty mixed mushroom in stock ( cook oneself)

I reckon my wife and I were three times older than all staff and students.

We had a very early booking on Easter Saturday expecting the place to be empty. Surprisingly, it was full at 5-30pm, which indicates either the popularity of Plus 82 Pocha, or the scarcity of open restaurants at Easter.

Ambiance varied from Moderate to Low.

I know little about Korean food except that :
– kimchi fermented cabbage, chilis and salted fish is good for you.
– warm soju rice wine is intoxicating
– it is the only Asian cuisine which has meals featuring cheese in large portions – a legacy of the US Forces during the Korean War?

With the inexpensive vegetarian Feed Me option ($45 a head), our favorite was kimchi pancake.

We love the food here and would like to get to know it better.

a long time fave of ours. Excited to see Dakgalbi on the menu especially with a corn cheese and egg ring on the side. Think Spicy chicken stir fried on the spot with some rice cakes and cabbage plus seasoned rice to complete the meal.

One of my all time favourite Korean dishes is Kimchi Jjigae and if you’re not up for a big hotpot to share, their late night menu has a smaller version. Cravings satisfied.

Low ambience outdoors, medium to lively inside. On weekend nights the music brings on party vibes.
