We often grab a light bite and a drink before seeing a film at Palace Nova Eastend. The food is fine, but very limited in range due to the nature of the venue.

They have a small food area in which you can buy cheese platter, toasties and other snacky type food (which does us for lunch) as well as beer, wine etc to have before or in the cinema.

The have an area with table and chairs in a space between cinemas.

Also as I have a Premium Movie Club card which costs $20 to join ($12 Student and Golden 60+) and has cheaper prices (-10%) and greater benefits. For 2 tickets this weekend we saved $6 each on my card so repaid the card cost in one visit.
