There was a lot of hype about this place, and for a reason – the food is spectacular.

I was sitting with a friend with hearing loss, so I requested a quiet table. They were accommodating and put us in the corner (which is normally bad for noise), but it wasn’t your usual corner. It was an open corner with plantation shutters behind us as the barrier between us and the next area (so the sound didn’t ‘echo’ as much as it normally does in the corner) and we were seated in a plush corner boothy area.

Food and service, top notch, so let’s get onto the ambience.

The bistro wasn’t full, Friday lunch crowd with many spare seats, but it was moderate in noise level. IMO the background noise had slightly too much volume on this occasion, which caused people near us to raise their voices. Had that not been the case, I think this would have been a low level.

The Food
We had the lunch special, 2 courses for $45 with a glass of house wine. And it was mah-ni-fique

It was so good we also ordered dessert. For me it was this:
Pavlova roulade, lemon curd, blueberries $16
(I saw the photo of this on their socials a few days ago and I had been craving it since. It was worth the wait!)

The Service
Friendly but not intrusive, efficient and professional.

So, overall the food was absolutely superb and my mouth is watering thinking about it. With wooden floors and no tablecloths though, it does make for a moderate noise level, but if you can tolerate it – worth it.
