Food was very nice and the desserts were fantastic. Service was nice with very friendly staff.

Sound level on the evening was moderate with carpet and surrounding acoustic management working well.

Surrounding conversations can be picked up but unless you have a cone of silence, there is not much that can be done about that. Minimal cutlery chatter and the music was at a background level. Conversations with my partner were slightly hard to pick up with the surrounding people and acoustic management, giving off a low treble effect but we adjusted well.

Can recommend this restaurant and would visit again.

It is a long time between dinners at the Hut & Soul. Too long!

I met two old friends from the north east suburbs as I hoped the food and ambience would not disappoint. In fact my meal exceeded expectations – 500g mussels in a ginger delicious concoction. Surprising and delicious.
My friend’s meal – squid and roast chicken ‘something’ – were much liked by them. Sorry, I can’t remember the details as I was too focused on my meal and conversation.

I need to go here soon for the first time with my other half.

A dinner for nine people was slowly reduced to only three, due to COVID and illness. The owner was pleased that I kept him updated with number changes as the restaurant was completely full on this chilly Saturday evening.

We arrived early, which allowed our small group to find the optimum table for my ‘picky’ hearing issues. We avoided the table under the speakers, or the spot beside the door, to avoid ‘loud’ music and cold air. Staff were very helpful my requests.

There were no problems chatting over our excellent Malaysian dinners. The Nasi Lemak was probably the best I have ever eaten (I’ve eaten perhaps 30 of them of the years). The other chose barramundi (a little too spicy for my Chinese friend) and salt & pepper squid with puffed rice ( tasty and vegetarian for my Indian friend).

Soon I will revisit with relatives who appreciate Indonesian cooking. I hope they are pleased.

Fabulous food, especially the Singapore Chilli Crab, Mamak Curry Barramundi & Charcoal Satays. Friendly staff & a lovely venue with plenty of parking nearby.

A great evening curated by Laura and Ambient Menu with a full house (Covid Style) and Tim and Amanda Geddes wines to accompany. Relaxed atmosphere and eclectic pan Asian food.

A great banquet and we were all so full of flavours and tastes.

Leashya from ‘Save This Moment’ photography was also there to capture the warmth and
enjoyment of the evening.

Even when the restaurant was fully booked we could hear everything across the table, even with a large group at the next table over. The food was amazing, service was impeccable, and I can’t wait to come back again.
