I have been starting to love pickles lately but @halfcupcafe made me love pickles even more in their delicious chorizo bolognese toasty. It just melts in your mouth and the sauce is just so tasty with a hint of spice from the pickles. Love it!

I never knew this lovely cafe existed until I got invited so it was nice to try somewhere new and close to home. The owner is from Bangladesh so the new breakfast menu is inspired by their Bangladeshi spices and all halal so no pork. It’s a must visit! Love how it’s very spacious with a cute market . They are eco friendly and family friendly. Love the dancing dog that entertains the children and the streets.

Thank you to @halfcupcafe for your inviting me and for your lovely hospitality 🫶

Several people told me to check out this place due to the ambience, the coffee, the service, and the warm and fuzzy feeling it gives you by being here. I am glad I did, because they were spot on. Rashed the owner has gone to a lot of trouble to make this place ambient and welcoming to all.

Before I tell you about the ambience, let me tell you a story that will give you the warm the fuzzies.
Their ethos is to pay it forward and make the community a better place. They hope to teach the next generation about the hospitality industry, appreciate Aboriginal local art, fundraising for the needy and teaching young people coffee making and baking skills. Rashed spends his spare time cooking for homeless people in the city.

Rasheds other goal is to give free training to young individuals within the hospitality sector, aiming to provide this to 10 students per month or roughly 100 students in 2024.

Fun fact: their muffins are made from local honey which is available in store. Max & Belle Raw Honey, Est. 2020, is a local family-run honey business. They also like to pay it forward, with 25% of their profits are donated to a food bank, supporting those in need. They chose this honey because not only is a tasty, family owned, local and natural product but also contributes to Max and Belles family’s vision of a better world.

    The food:
It is described as food with an ‘modern food with an eastern twist’, it looked great and the people who told me to go there raved about it. I was working so I only stopped in for a take away coffee and a muffin (baked fresh daily), but while I waited I got to talk to Rashed and check out the store as well.

    The Ambience
The café’s design promotes a multicultural atmosphere, located within Living Jute. So while you sit and enjoy the calm atmosphere, you can not only taste their wares, but shop their wares as well. There are lots of spots to sit. If you prefer lively vibes sit by the front counter where people make their orders and you get the buzz of the coffee machine.

If you want sunshine you can sit outside and take in the fresh air.

My pick (serenity seeker) was inside the Living Jute store. Lots of spots to sit, well spaced tables, soft music, and soaking in the atmosphere of their lovely community driven shop.

Lots of things to love, nothing to loathe. I loved it so much I also did a quick video supporting their pay it forward initiative and launched one myself to hopefully get the word out about this place. I live on the other side of town, but whenever I am out this way I will be stopping by that’s for sure…. Its one of those places that leaves a lasting impression.

Are you a cup half full kinda person? Well do I have a cafe for you!

    It’s a family run hidden gem called @halfcupcafe ☕
📍231 Sir Donald Bradman Dr, Cowandilla SA 5033

Plenty of good coffee, delicous modern brunch with an ‘Eastern Twist’. House baked goods are made fresh daily too! And vegan friendly options available.

Spacious area with plenty of room for families and larger groups. A lovely outdoor area and the service is genuine, warm and friendly.

You can do some shopping in their eco friendly and sustainability store @livingjute located within their cafe.. Selling hand made, biodegradable and ethical items with proceeds going to charities.

The owners have been in the cafe business for a long time and this newly opened cafe is winning over the hearts and taste buds of Adelaide. They are also giving back to the community by training up our next generation of baristas and bakers with free classes.

We love this concept and had a lovely time and will see you again. Thank you @halfcupcafe for having us 🙏
