There are so many good things to say about this place, so I do have mixed feeling writing this review.

It isn’t just a cafe but an op shop too. A not for profit that gives back to the community. You can browse through the shop, read a book in a comfy seat, it really has potential to be a great spot that I want to support.

Food:
I had a glorious tandoori chicken focaccia. And the coffee I got to take away after was so good

Ambience:
I was there on the busiest day of the week at the busiest time, and it was half full.

In the far corner is comfy bench style seating, there were a few people sitting here enjoying coffees while working on their laptop. While I was there a few people came in for a business meeting and also sat here.

A lot of regulars came in for coffee, groups of older men sitting at a table talking and it seems to be their regular friday catch up.

The corner where I was sitting is actually the loudest spot because there is a speaker over head, sound collects in corners, but it also the comfiest spot.

I was there at the busiest time and it was moderate while I was there, but any other day would be really quiet.

BUT
The only reason this is a normal review and not an ‘Ear Bud Q Tip’ where we promote eateries is because of the service. The most grumpy indifferent barista served me. Now the cook was lovely so not directed at him, thats why there is 2 stars not 0.

I walked in and saw the foccaccias in the display fridge, there were no labels so I asked what they were – he kinda threw a menu at me. Sorry most places don’t have their display items as menu items, I didn’t know.

I ordered and sat down. After I went to get a coffee to take away because A) for a recommendation the coffee has to be good and B) I didn’t want the entry to be a consistent greeting that has the potential to ruin what I think would be an otherwise good lunch for others.

As another regular came in he winged about how much he hated his job and how he was hoping to accidentally injure himself at work so he can claim it on workcover and have a few weeks off. This is a not for profit cafe that gives back to the community. I so badly wanted to write a lovely promotional review for this place, but the beginning and end thanks to the front of house – made me not want to because it was the wrong lasting impression
