We stopped for a very late snack and drink after a Fringe show.
The rush was over but we sat outside. Seating and tables reminded me of a Paris brasserie.
The small plates were memorable if pricey.
– crispy Brussel sprouts
– pumpkin with labneh (spelling?)

I popped in for a quick snack and a drink before going to a movie at the Capri Theatre. As it was a hot early evening, diners and drinkers had spllied out onto the tables & chair on the Gilbert St footpath.

This was my first return to an old favorite haunt – the Atelier Gourmand, which sadly closed over 5 years ago. (The best steak frites in town).

Good Gilbert is substantially larger than the two restaurants previously in this space. Two spaces have been joined so it extends from Goodwood Rd through to a Gilbert St entrance. Lots of outdoor seating, comfy indoor areas, trendy extensive (400) (and expensive) wine list and intereting food combos. I went for a ‘special’ entree called “anchovies duo with nduja paste, aoili on toast’. Small and very tasty. It went well with a $17 glass of Basket Range Chardonnay.

They call themselve a “NEIGHBOURHOOD BAR” and all ages were represented and made welcome. They recently won the 2023 Gourmet Traveller’s Wine Bar of the Year (not sure if it was Adelaide or national – regardless not bad!)

Perhaps I should move to Goodwood?
