Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere, with delicious food and cocktails! We (2 people) dined on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was very busy with every table booked out. Noise levels were quite high, and seats were very close together which made following along in conversations quite difficult. Nonetheless, definitely would return to this restaurant, but not during peak service.

ACCESS: 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent Access. Restaurant entrance at street level, on Leigh St, is easy to enter and exit by wheelchair. Ample restaurant space to navigate, and additional accessible outdoor area makes this venue a great place to visit, with mobility aids. I didn’t get the opportunity to see about accessible bathrooms, unfortunately. Minimal sound, and soft acoustics indoors.

AMBIENCE/ATMOSPHERE/STAFF : 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There are plenty of comfortable spaces to sit, and minimal noise levels from all of the customers, and staff. Staff were attentive, helpful, and exceptional! Minimal sound, and soft acoustics indoors.

FOOD/BEVERAGES: 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Incredible! Wines are quite pricey, by the glass, with some being $28p.g. We opted for a Pinot Grigio at $15 per glass. Food is designed for sharing, with many tasting plates on offer! Pictured here is requested warm bread, fresh from the oven, with a salted butter, fried artichoke, with anchovy, brussel sprouts, green salad, oysters, salmon ‘taco’, and calamari.

Fugazzi is near the top of Leigh St in the same space as the long gone Rigoni’s. First impressions were of an expensive refit with a sophisticated bar and seating. Lots of polite, efficient staff.

However, there was one problem. The music at the entrance was so loud that I could not understand the friendly person at reception. We went to our table and I quickly realised that today’s lunch would be an expensive shouting match without some quick action. They organised an outdoor table, Turning down interior music was not an option (it would affect the ‘ambience’ they said).

Outdoors was great.

We had a LOT of delicious starters to share
– diced salmon on wafers
– stuffed aubergine flowers
– beef shashliks
Presentation and taste were top-class.

My main was the special al-dente thicker spaghetti with mussels in a savoury fish stock. Worth the $40+ dollars.

Wine by the glass was on the ‘normal’ $12-30 range. We had a bottle of the cheapest white at $78, but this paled into comparison with the $1600 per bottle burgundy!

Fantastic food and service but sit outside and a good spot of your bank account is bulging.

We went at lunch during the week so it was a very quiet and peaceful dining experience. I would think dinner would be much noisier.
Tables are spaced well and no sounds of the kitchen or staff. It was exceptional food and wonderful service!
Highly recommend!
