The Elliston Hotel must be one of SA’s most isolated country hotels. 150km to Coffin Bay (south) and a mere 60km to Venus Bay (north west).

There is a good sized dining room, a front bar and an outdoor area under cover. My guess is that all of the towns 350 inhabitants could fit in at a push.

The menu was longer and more interesting than a typical country pub. Lots a fish dishes from local waters were fresh and tasty.

– Delicious Fish tacos for our first dinner, King George whiting (lunch) and Chili Prawns (second dinner).
– Roast lamb , chicken parmigiana and steak for the carnivore.

Friendly staff were from various countries.

After a period of being closed, this hotel has reopened with a new chef and some new staff.
We ate here to support the hotel as they reopened to support the public
There is a shortened menu with the usual pub classics, but being a fishing town, there is a focus on fresh seafood.
Quiet ambience, awesome and helpful staff.
Food was good and quite big serves. If you are in Elliston, show your support for this hotel.
