The bar and restaurant are within a newly built part of this Woomera hotel – the one and only. Most of the folk eating and drinking were contractors for the rocket range and military operations nearby. This part of the Eldo is new, spacious and well stocked.

There were about 25 people in total in the bar / restaurant which meant were were all well spread out. I asked the bar staff “when does it get busy?”. She replied that this was busy! Therefore I cannot imagine that this spot is ever noisy unless a battalion of soldiers arrives.

Accomodation is in other buildings nearby and is dated and a bit run down since the period of Woomera’s heyday in the 50-70s. We stayed for a night and looked around the town of Woomera.

A very unusual destination.
