On arrival they had music playing both in & outside and the aircon was loud. After explaining my hearing situation (bilaterally deaf with a single CI), the waitress recommended they turn off the music inside and the aircon in a section she could seat us. The waitress checked on us frequently and communicated clearly.

ACCESS : 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

East End Cellars is located on Ebenezer St, and front outdoor tables are accessible via ground level. Pavements surrounding are tricky, with few ramped areas, and many jolting cracks etc, but this is more an Adelaide City Council issue. The indoor area is also wheelchair accessible. I did not get the chance to investigate accessible toilets.

Ambience-wise, it was very serene sitting outdoors. A weekday lunchtime crowd was sparse, so sound was at a minimum. It didn’t appear too bustling inside, so I would imagine the environment to be much the same.

FOOD / SERVICE : THREE STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was with my good friend Ingemar, (who you may recall me meeting from a previous post!)
Ingemar comes here each week for their flounder dish. I ordered some crusty baguette, with oil and dukkah ($10) and a Caesar salad. Ingemar brought Swedish crackers and gorgonzola cheese with him for me to taste! (Pics included.)

Ingemar’s fish looked appealing, and plentiful, but I have to say, my Caesar salad was somewhat lacking. Parmesan was sparse, and grated (not shaved, as is preferable), there were few anchovies, no egg, and the speck was a little too dry. At $20, it was fairly underwhelming. Wine was fantastic, and reasonably priced for a wine bar.

Staff were great, as they obviously new Ingemar well! Friendly, and accommodating.

Venue is airy, filled with natural light, and interiors are quite beautiful. Outdoor area is pretty, and serene. ☀️
