We sat outdoor on the oicnic tables. No need for the larger umbrellas in spite of it being a sunny day as it is almost winter.

The menu has been changed but just as interesting and tasty as before.

It was perfect weather for a family lunch. We sat outside in the fenced area to the north of the main restaurant to make the best of the weather and to avoid the interior noise.

The HUGE chicken schnitizels were popular in our group as was the Beef Brisket nacho bowl.
A vego burger and a chicken burger were also appreciated by our group of six.
District B have a delicious chili jam that appears on many dishes for a good reason.

Service was very slow in spite of plenty of staff. The smoothie machine was not working which explained why drinks were slow in arriving. However, a 30-40 minute wait for a ‘quick’ lunch would not have been appreciated by working week diners.

Overall, I was pleased with the lack of ‘background’ music, good food and perfect weather.

I went to District B for breakfast for the first time as the weather is good at last. As it was a sunny, warm morning I sat outside in the area with picnic benches in the area on Grundy Terrace (facing the playground). I chose not to sit inside as the music was not to my tastes and it was already noisy in spite of there being very few diners.

Outdoors was very quiet – well it was only 8-45am. The poached eggs on toast and flat white were both what you’d expect.

I’m still concerned about dinner at District B due to the potential for noise.

Great food and coffee, very noisy inside and out with walls and doors open and music in background. Sensory overload for our little one. Perhaps try takeaway and sit in the great family friendly park across the road

A rellatively new restaurant.. On my two visits with family, I found the noise deafening due to lack of acoustic deadening. They need advice as a number of us will not go back as a result. However the food is very good, so I hope they improve the sound deadening.

It was a brunch date for hubby and I, we both had the eggs hollandaise, mine with mushrooms on the side. Now, I eat mushrooms whenever I can, and these were some of the best mushrooms I had ever had. Could not fault the breakfast we had.

The restaurant was 1/2 booked today with a few small groups, and although I had no trouble hearing the conversation, the layout makes me think when it is fully booked (which is quite often is from reading the amazing reviews), it would be difficult to have a conversation. Wooden floorboards and bare tables/walls would make other groups conversation ricochet around the room, but on this occasion, it was only 1/2 full we had no issues.

!!!HOT TIP!!!

If you struggle in noise, you can sit outside (but Beach road traffic may be a bother), OR you can wait and see what they are building out the side…… it looks like an alfresco dining area is in progress. This would be sheltered from the traffic, but open enough to make conversation easy.
