The Doonan was positively buzzing this afternoon.

Took my friend there after we’d plundered the Eumundi markets. We thought it must’ve been a wedding there were so many people, but seems to be a normal Saturday.

Althought it was very crowded and they had a vocalist there, we could still hear and have a conversation.

Nestled in a captivating setting, The Doonan offers an enchanting dining experience. While indoor seating is somewhat limited, the focus is on the well designed outdoor area where patrons can enjoy the sunshine, or perch under the umbrellas. Plenty of space and privacy is available thanks to the greenery draped all over. If you prefer to dine at night, you can sit by the fireplace with a cocktail under the fairy lights.

The staff were delightful, and I enjoyed some banter with the manager. He was helpful and gave me his ‘Hot Tips’ to find the most ambient spot.

This ‘pub’ caters wonderfully to adults and children, with its undeniable family-friendly appeal. Just check out what they have set up for the kids. Playground, animals, large green area with balls to play with, what haven’t they thought of?

The portions served here are generous and satisfying. Accessibility is a priority, and The Doonan goes above and beyond by offering options suitable for vegans and those with gluten sensitivities. Their commitment to inclusivity is commendable and apparent.

The nursery can be a bit echoey; although there is a lot of greenery, there is a lot of brick, so the sound ricochets.

You know you’re in the right place when you are greeted by the manager, who proudly shows you his detail floor plan. Individual volume controls for every speaker in the entire dining area on his iPad.
And doesn’t stop there even the chips come flavoured with real rosemary and garlic cloves. All fried together and exploding with flavour. This really is a huge establishment in the individual areas or eating zones are beautifully decorated and styled. As is the food that you are about to receive on your plate. We enjoyed woodfired pizzas that we cooked to perfection. Obviously the oven and the ingredients work together is one to create that perfectly textured and flavoured pizza Signature Doonan, pizza with roasted pumpkin, and a spicy hint of nduja pork mince was excellent. Being someone who loves riding his Harley on the weekend finding this little gym that is just over 30 minutes from my home tucked away in between Noosa and Eumundi. I can see this becoming a regular little pitstop in the future.
