I love this place! The food is super healthy – without a river of sticky dressings. I had a Mango Chicken salad and it was excellent. My friend and I loved the quiet cafe area and the staff were friendly and helpful. Very quiet. They are currently only open for lunch but will hopefully be extending their hours to dinner. Give this one a try!

Café Brio is a delightful family-owned establishment that stands out from the crowded Brighton or Glenelg dining scenes. Why endure the hassle of driving to those bustling areas when you can enjoy a satisfying meal here, complete with free and easily accessible parking?

    We ate:
    Mediterranean Potpourri: $24
Smashed avo, roasted pumpkin and sweet potato, beetroot hummus, poached egg, heirloom tomato and shaved radish on a bed of sourdough topped with crumbled fetta, dukka and balsamic glaze.

The colours were simply stunning, and the freshness of the ingredients was undeniable. And let’s not forget the roasted pumpkin shards that added a delightful crackle to the dish. It was truly an OMG moment!

    Which went very nicely with:
    Green Smoothie: $9
Spinach, lemon, ginger, cucumber and apple

    Mango Chicken Salad: $23.90
Herb infused poached chicken, slaw mix, corn kernels, pomegranate, cheery tomatoes, roasted capsicum with toasted nuts and honey mustard dressing topped with sliced mango.

My friend said each bite was a symphony of flavours, and the generous portions left us satisfied.

    Pros:
🍽 The food. Simply amazing from the first to the last bite. It was an impeccable dining experience that left no room for criticism. The quality of ingredients is top-notch, and the freshness of the flavours makes you feel nourished with every mouthful. The presentation is a work of art, with vibrant colors adorning each plate. Oh, and let’s not overlook the “cheery” tomatoes, (it was not a spelling mistake, I did that intentionally named to reflect their delightful nature).

🤑 Generous serves and reasonable prices.

🪑 Furniture: I love the décor, I can’t describe it. Rustic, woodsy, but inviting. The tables are like a medieval knights table or something (they are wooden for those who need a cushy for their tooshy). Seating options include cozy tables for two, quiet corners, booths, tables, larger group tables have their own section.

😁 Staff: Friendly, happy, and welcoming, and their passion for food is evident in every dish. You can taste the love and care that goes into the preparation of each meal.

    🐶 Dog friendly (outside)

    ☕ Coffee: goooooood

Well-spaced tables, easy to navigate with a walker or pram

♿ Access friendly: car parking, ramp and toilets at rear

    🚗 Free carparking: at rear

    👂🔊 EAR BUD Q TIP 👂🔊
I spoke to the lovely Sandy who says it is quiet like it was when I dined, 90% of the time.

It’s worth noting that Café Brio offers two distinct dining areas. Larger groups are seated near the front entrance, while smaller groups and couples enjoy a separate area. The separate sound control for each area ensures a pleasant ambiance.

It is worth calling ahead if you prefer a quieter experience. Large groups and parties are required to book in advance, allowing the staff to provide a heads-up if things might get a bit lively.

On weekends, the brunch scene is particularly popular, so if you’re sound-sensitive, it’s best to avoid the peak hours of Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm and Sundays, which are the busiest days for the café.

Any other time, the ambience is almost a given (just call ahead to check)

My family and I have dined at Café Brio several times now. The decor is quirky and while not really ‘snuggly’ the atmosphere has always been very comfortable. The staff is lovely – very accommodating – and the food is just amazing. I have always been attracted by the colourful and professional plating, within a menu that covers a wide range of basics and provides seasonal specials. Another plus is the fact that food and drinks are very well priced.

Having won a mother’s day competition we had a chance to visit again last Sunday. Cafe Brio again met our expectations. We often enjoy a casual meal together and the chance to chat. On Sunday there was a small private function in another area and even with the associated music we could very easily engage in our conversation. We had a very enjoyable experience.
