Nestled just a 15-minute drive from Victor Harbor, this charming hidden gem boasts panoramic views of Glacier Rock and the tranquil Inman River. Run by a delightful family, the service here is nothing short of fantastic.

Renowned for its expertise in crafting Belgian waffles and crepes, this eatery is also home to award-winning vanilla slices—an indulgence worth savouring later if you find yourself too full at the moment. The menu proudly showcases honest, homemade fare, each dish prepared with fresh ingredients. So, if it is busy you may have to wait a while, but they warn you of this when ordering. I will add, it is worth the wait.

From delectable waffles adorned with an array of sweet and savoury toppings to a diverse range of meals spanning salads to burgers, their offerings cater to every palate. The prices are reasonable, and portions are satisfying, and any dish that doesn’t have meat as the main ingredient can be made vegetarian.

In addition to its culinary delights, this establishment doubles as a tea house, presenting a vast selection of teas alongside traditional coffee options. The cafe exudes a pleasant atmosphere, characterized by simple and rustic decor—think wooden tables and chairs complemented by a warm colour scheme. Although the interior is cozy, the outdoor undercover seating provides an alternative, allowing patrons to bask in the natural surroundings. Outside you have a choice of on the lawn or under the covered shade cloth gazebo.

Weekends can get quite busy, so it’s secure a reservation if you want a guaranteed spot.

The staff, consistently friendly and accommodating, contribute to the overall positive dining experience.

    EAR BUD Q TIP

Midweek offers a quieter ambience if you want to dine indoors. Indoors does have wooden floorboards so if busy it may be hard to hear if you are with a larger group.
Friday brunch is the busiest time during the weekdays.
The weekends, especially Saturdays and Sundays, witness a surge in patronage, making advance reservations a smart move.
However, the outdoor seating area maintains an ambient atmosphere, devoid of music, allowing diners to immerse themselves in the soothing sounds of nature.

I just discovered this gem, hidden in the hills of Inman Valley on South Australias Fleureiu Peninsula.

The name is ‘Belicious’ and it honours Belgian waffles and the flavour was well…… delicious!!!! This is a place that caters to both the savoury and sweet tooths.

Mr 13 enjoyed a delicious burger, our friends Miss 10 enjoyed a decadent waffle for breakfast. I couldn’t decide between savoury or sweet, so I had the savoury crepe: chicken, mushrooms and meatballs in a creamy white sauce, gift wrapped in a crepe…… and just to make you feel like it’s healthy….. a side of salad 😉

The Ambience: we sat outside and enjoyed beautiful views of the valley directly opposite Glacier Rock.

It is a rustic and homely café inside, but we sat outside as we wanted to take in the natural surrounds. But when we were inside ordering our food it was easy to converse with staff, even with everyone wearing face masks (I usually struggle)

The food: BELICIOUS!!!!!!! The photos don’t do the food justice, you’ll just need to take my word for it and see for yourself.

And check out the size of the Vanilla Slice we got to take away after!!!!!

The service: very welcoming with friendly service, from a family owned business.

After eating we walked down to explore Glacier Rock.

“The Glacier Rock is also known as Selwyn’s Rock, and is a 500 million year old boulder transported by a glacier from the vicinity of Victor Harbor. A huge glacial ice sheet covered the whole of the south coast 250 million years ago. During this period Glacier Rock was dragged across the Fleurieu Peninsula by the ice helping to groove and scratch rock surfaces between Victor Harbor and Inman Valley. The grooves, scratches and crescent shaped marks on the rock surface of the Inman Valley River bed are significant evidence of the direction of the ice movement”

The kids had a great day out, and so did the adults.

Highly recommended and we will be back (as soon as possible, so many things on the menu I want to try for myself)
