We were thanful that we preferred an Indian lunch rather than standard cafe fare. It was my first visit to the Aldinga Bay Cafe and it will not be my last. The reasons:

– Possibly the best onion bhajis I have ever eaten. Not heavy, fried to a perfect crispiness.
– Channa Masala (chick peas) in a mild spiced sauce
– Navrattan Korma – mixed vegetables with cashew nuts in a well spiced mixture.
– Murgh Tikka – chicken tandoor cooked and well presented.
– Garlic nan – an excellent version.

All meals were ‘delicate’ and delicious. The ‘delicate’ word is not often applied to Indian food but I found the reason for this quality. The owner was previously a chef at the Hyatt Hotel on North Terrace, Adelaide. (Now the Intercontinental). He bought this place down south about ten years ago and has fine Indian cusine on offer.

As it was a Friday lunchtime and we were the only diners, it was quiet, No music playing. Tables are widely spaced.

Worth a drive to go again.

A very big floor plan so tables spread out meaning minimal noise from other patrons.
