I only stopped in for a take away coffee and snack (twice). Hubby was unwell but I needed a coffee fix.

Oh my goodness this place is great!

Sat afternoon I was inside waiting for my coffee and it was quiet, even when every table was full.

Sun morning, again fully booked and again, it was still quiet.

The coffee is great, and they have a good looking menu which I’m sad I didn’t get to try. But, I did get to try their selection of cakes from the display and both times = nom nom nom.

There is something about escaping the loud main road and into this quiet sanctuary that is very soothing. People naturally lower their voices when they are in here dining. Maybe it is the antique style furnishings that make them feel like they are in a library, or maybe it is the soft furnishings that absorb some of the noise, either way – it works.

EAR BUD Q TIP

On both occasions that I was here, conversation around the table won’t be difficult. If you really need to escape, the room off the back which is decked out like an old manor reading room would be my pick.
