If you’re looking for a chilled spot to enjoy a great beer in Adelaide, Mismatch Brewing Co ticks all the boxes. Tucked away in Whitmore Square, this brewpub offers a variety of seating options to suit your mood—whether you’re after a lively vibe or a quiet, semi-private nook to unwind.

Upstairs and downstairs, there are plenty of cosy corners that are out of the way, making it easy to find a quiet space for conversation. The rooftop bar has a laid-back atmosphere with city views, perfect for a relaxed afternoon session. Downstairs, most areas are low in volume, with the only moderate noise coming from the main bar by the kitchen—a great spot if you enjoy a bit more energy without it being overwhelming.

The staff are super friendly, happy to chat about the beers on tap or just make you feel welcome. The affordable prices make it even easier to settle in, and we loved the complimentary popcorn that comes with your drink—a great touch! If you’re after a bite to eat, the loaded nachos are a must-try—seriously good.

Mismatch Brewing Co is an ideal choice for those who love craft beer but prefer a relaxed, ambient setting over a loud, bustling venue. Whether you’re catching up with friends or just looking for a quiet spot to enjoy a quality brew, this place is a winner. 🍻

My sons are away for next week’s Father’s Day, so we organised lunch a week early. In early 2020, pre-COVID, Sparkke impressed me with high quality food and presentation, so it was time to go again.

Surprisingly, our group of five was one of only two groups at the restaurant. Perhaps everyone was enjoying the rare winter sunshine and higher temperatures. The waitress told us that Friday and Saturday evenings were unusually busy (international rugby?) and that the menu was short on some items as a result. There was still an extension menu of share plates etc. from the Bar Menu.

Food was well presented and delicious. Highlights for me included Jalapeno corn fritters, Smoked hock & gruyere croquette and Smokey Bay oysters, chilli, lime & Full Circle Gin.

Service was excellent, I guess due to the lack of diners.

Oh, I forgot to mention that we started lunch with five different cocktails – expensive and time consuming to prepare, but they certainly added something special to our lunch out.

As the restaurant was almost empty the noise level was all due to the music. Noise level might be moderate normally.
