The hotel was established in 1878 and was the first hotel in Quorn. The hotel has a National Trust listing.

The Transcontinental Hotel is a typical Australian country pub with friendly service and locals. There is a decent wine list and good meals. Big focus on beef as you might expect this far north. However, other types of food are availabl and were good.

Great value and friendly locals. I would recommend this spot if you only go to one hotel for dinner in Quorn.

My guess is that Friday and Saturday nights could get a bit loud in the front bar and dining room, but we went earlier in the week.

There is an outdoors area that we did not visit.
