Note: this is the low restaurant that you can hardly see from Main South Road.

We arrived in the dark and my wife was instantly impressed by the colourful lighting on the outside and inside of the restaurant.

The service was very quick after ordering i.e. less than 5 minutes. Food was tasty and well-received in spite of being a westernised version of real Viet food (Think sauces and vegiies repeating themselves in many dishes).

It was very healthy as we had Chili Lemongrass Tofu & Chicken and Cashew nuts with boiled rice. To match the food I had an equally dated but excellent Crown Lager.

My son and I visited ‘O’Halloran Hill Vietnamese’ for the first time. It made a good first impression, as the detached restauarant is elevated surrounded with attractive plants, fairy lights and was attractive.

Inside was decorated in Vietnamese style with lots of space between tables (photo). It was quiet!

We ordered Pork Dim Sums and Vietnamese spring rolls, which were light and tasty. Main courses were:
– spicy lemongrass chicken (recommended).
– scallops with veggies (not enough flavour for my liking).

I’ve been looking for a decent Viet restuarant in our areas for years with success. Now that I have eventually discovered an attractive dining space with good Viet food, I know where to go when I have a craving for fresh, tasty, healthy food.

It is worth noting that this establishment is at 115 Main South Rd and is hidden from the main road as it is hidden on a side road in a hollow. Confusingly, there is an another ‘Hill Top Vietnam Restaurant’ up the hill at 93 Main South Rd within the shopping centre.

Very large open restaurant so plenty of room to sit in quiet space for good conversations

Decor is outdated but food makes up for it, yum Vietnamese, salt and pepper chilli squid is tasty!!

Not a huge wine list but this restaurant is more your cheaper, local, yum family meal
