On the Esplanade at Christies Beach you will find Flava Café. This seaside serenity offers a relaxed and comfortable ambiance that is perfect for both casual meetups and intimate gatherings. Enjoy dining indoors or on the outdoor deck, every seat offers uninterrupted ocean views.
The meals are full of delicious mouthwatering Flava!

If you’re up for it, I highly recommend the Mexican Parmi, House crumbed chicken breast topped salsa sauce, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, jalapeño, corn chips and Mexican cheese. Served with chips and salad.

It has been many months since we’ve eaten at Flava, but ventured back for two reasons: many restaurants were closed for the Labour Day holiday and curiosity to see if the food had improved under new owners (started in late 2021, we bought two disappointing dinners).

The good news is that the menu has been expanded and that a few previous favorites have been retained e.g. Thai beef or chicken salad, seafood trio chicken parmi, eggs benedict, and of course the fish & chips. We ordered all of these items and no one complained!

There are also unusual items such as Tulsi (Indian) teas, Iced Long Black coffee and Port Lincoln Flathead with chips.

I must admit to being concerned that the noise level would be unacceptable since it was full inside and out. However, it was not too bad in part due to my back being against a wooden wall, sitting on a padded bench with lots of cushions? Acoustic damping? Also we started lunch at 1-30pm so it soon thinned out.

I also noticed that the new operators have reinstated live music every second Friday. This is a welcome development and shows that they are finding their feet after a year in charge.

I will not be so reluctant to visit again.

A very popular place with nice food and a great view. They have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu and it’s reasonably priced. It’s also licensed so we were able to have a glass of wine with our lunch. We sat outside to enjoy the sunshine & view. The occasional motor bike roaring up the hill was annoying but apart from that the sound of the waves & and the blue sea & sky certainly made up for it. We chose the steak sandwich & the Thai beef salad. Both were lovely. We chose local wines from Willunga Creek wines. We plan to come back again to try out some more things on their menu.

Well established early morning to evening coffee shop and dinner venue (Fri-Sat only).
Inside is noiser as expected but still moderate at worst.
