I only had a beer so can’t comment on the food, so I just gave them the benefit of the doubt.

I chose to sit in the mezzanine, which had a Chesterfield sofa and comfortable seating—perfect for an intimate, romantic, or chilled vibe.

The alley outside seating was the quietest spot, in a side alley, away from traffic, offering a peaceful escape.

The main area opposite the bar was a small area, so when the coffee machine was on, it filled the space, but it wasn’t disruptive from where I was sitting on the mezzanine. It might get lively if it’s full, though.

The menu offers a great selection of wine and beer along with light snacks.

The service was friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere isn’t what you’d expect from a typical Melbourne café. It feels like you’re tucked into a cosy corner of a European street.

While I was there, the music was gentle, with soft Irish violins playing in the background. At night, the venue transforms into a gin bar featuring over 50 types of gin, so I assume it likely gets livelier then.

With the option of cosy indoor seating or European-style outdoor plaza, it’s a versatile spot for any preference.

It’s a family-owned business with many regulars, adding to the welcoming feel.
