Love this place

Even on a Friday night when everywhere else was pumping, we could sit here and chat and relax. The ambient vibes make you want to stay longer, enjoy another glass (or two).

The staff are friendly with a fantastic knowledge of their extensive drinks list, great place to bring the gang to learn about whiskey and chat.

Spier and Wright Whisky Bar – Escape the humdrum of daily life.

It was our first stop on our date arvo / night and we visited 3pm sat afternoon. Hubby is a whisky fan so I knew I had to show him this place. While it’s not my cup of tea, they have a good range of wines and cocktails to choose from.

Such a chilled and relaxing vibe and ambience here. Chilled music, cool decor, and Siimon the owner very easy to chat to and eager to share his love and knowledge for the range of whiskeys on offer. His knowledge of the products was beyond reproach. We found a whisky bottle from Glenord distillery, Scotland, which gave us happy memories of our visit there in 2006. In the end, hubby chose and thoroughly enjoyed his Uncle Nearest, 1884 bourbon, on Simons recommendation.

Ambience Tip
‘Simon says’ only Friday nights can get lively. They sometimes have live music on offer. They also have many whiskey workshops / events, mainly on a Thursday night. Keep an eye on their socials if you want to partake / avoid those livelier times. At all other times the ambience is like we experienced – very chilled

Summary; what is not to like about this place? The staff, atmosphere, range, prices, value, set up and overall experience is spectacular. Yes, it will help if you like and appreciate fine and unusual whiskeys, but that is not essential. Whether it is whiskey, other liqueurs, wine, cocktails or easy conversation you seek – give it a try. You just might end up be pleasantly surprised with yourself and what you learn and appreciate along the way.
