It was Friday 2nd January so the Central Market was busy after New Year’s Day closure. We’ve been at Zuma’s many times so know that outside is best for ambience except on a cold, wet day.

At only $22, my wife’s chicken schnitzel parmi with chips and salad was huge so we immediately asked for a take-away box. Tasty and great for sharing chips with other diners (me…)

Conversely at $24, my two hash browns, two poached eggs with bechamel sauce was small! Well done though – tasty and well-presented.

Two flat whites and lots of free water on a hot day.

A Central Market institition.

I had nothing to eat – only a coffee with someone. It was the quiet end of the day, so there was few people, and the only sound was piped music. A staff member turned the latter down low, so I was able to have a productive meeting with no interference.

An excellent coffee and friendly staff in a well-known Central Market location.
